Speaker Bios

AnneAnne Blumer, Certified Professional Organizer®, SolutionsForYou, Inc. became a Professional Organizer Trainer and Speaker because she believes in the immense value of this profession. She wants others who aspire to it to represent the industry as experienced and knowledgeable professionals. Anne formed the Professional Organizer Training Institute™ to share her learning in the hopes that others will benefit greatly from her experiences. Anne has over four years training experience and has trained over 170 participants to become professional organizer business owners. In addition, she has over ten years experience training business professionals on merger and acquisition procedures in the high-tech industry. Her experience as a business owner and founder of SolutionsForYou, Inc. Organizing Services has given her skills, knowledge, and the ability to provide complete and comprehensive training for individuals that will enable them to successfully operate their professional organizer business. Anne is among the inaugural 200 Professional Organizers in the world to receive the Certified Professional Organizer CPO® Designation from the Board of Certified Professional Organizers (BCPO). Additionally, Anne holds a certificate of training from the Coach Approach for Organizers™ and from the NSGCD a Level II ADD Specialist Certificate (Graduates at this level have completed approximately 65 hours of study and passed the ADD Exam in addition to having earned their CD Specialist designation.), Level II Chronic Disorganization Specialist Certificate (Graduates at this level have completed approximately 25 hours of study and passed the General Exam), Certificate of Study in Learning Styles and Modalities, Certificate of Study in Chronic Disorganization, Certificate of Study in Basic ADD Issues With the CD Client, and Certificate of Study in CD Client Administration. Anne is a certified Freedom Filer™ consultant and certified GO System Trainer and Consultant.

Anne is a golden circle member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), the Oregon chapter of NAPO, and the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD). As a leader in the professional organizing industry, Anne has served on the NAPO Oregon Board since 2003 and is a chapter Past President. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication from Marylhurst University in Oregon. Anne enjoys speaking to a variety of audiences on the benefits of organizing. She is an active volunteer in her children’s schools passionately teaching students organizational skills. Anne is the author of Get Rich Organizing.

Anne Koch AttorneyMarjorie A. Berger, practices in the Business and Litigation departments at Harrang Long Gary Rudnick P.C. where she focuses on advising closely-held businesses through every stage of their business life cycles, including formation of business entities; negotiation of key contractual relationships; federal and state regulatory compliance; financing transactions; intellectual property protection; employment matters; and, when they are ready, dissolution. She also counsels clients on complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisition, loan workouts, reorganizations and sales of businesses. On the litigation side, Marjorie assists clients with resolving business disputes -- including shareholder disputes, “business divorces,” employment grievances and customer disputes -- both in and out of court. Marjorie is a member of the American Bar Association, Oregon State Bar, Multnomah County Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, and Oregon Women Lawyers Society. She volunteers for the Lawyers Campaign for Equal Justice and Minds Matter of Portland.

Julia Fitzgerald CPAJulia Fitzgerald, CPA, P.C. is the Professional Organizer Training Institute™ tax expert speaker.
Julia is a Graduate from University of Texas with a BA in Accounting and has 14 years of experience as a practicing CPA. She has experience with Limited Liability Companies, S Corporations, Partnerships and other forms of business as well as individual tax preparation and planning. Julia provides professional accounting services especially for home businesses, small businesses, and individuals.
Julia is a member of the Portlandia Club, Portland Metropolitan Photographers’ Association, Oregon Natural Step network, Greener Good and the Hillsdale Business and Professional Association. In her spare time Julia volunteers for seniors at the Neighborhood House in Multnomah Village, gardens, hikes, backpacks, cross country skis, and enjoys camping.

Hawthorne_Monique-AttorneyMonique Lee Hawthorne, Associate, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP practices real estate, business, energy, and environmental law. She counsels clients in areas pertaining to commercial transactions, renewable energy-related issues, real estate investments and environmental regulatory compliance.
Monique is also involved with sustainable business practices and is a LEED Accredited Professional (one of five Oregon attorneys listed in the Green Building Certification Institute directory). The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. As a LEED Accredited Professional, she has the knowledge and skills to advise clients on all aspects of sustainable real estate, including advising clients who are interested in but don’t necessarily have the big corporation budgets. Monique has also helped many small businesses wanting to incorporate sustainability into their business practices.
